Odaily News According to official news, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) calls on Hong Kong citizens to be vigilant and pay attention to fraudulent websites impersonating the HKMA's official website, platforms claiming to be regulated by the HKMA, fake documents and emails: 1. Pay attention to the fraudulent website with the domain name 353049[.]cc; 2. A digital currency platform called "Kucoin" (Platform) claims to be regulated by the HKMA and issues documents in the name of the HKMA, requiring citizens to pay fees to retrieve frozen account funds; and 3. A fake HKMA sends a reminder via email, claiming to be a website regulated by a "government department", whose users can reply to the email to withdraw funds from their accounts. The HKMA solemnly clarifies that the fraudulent website and platform have no relationship with the HKMA; and reiterates that the Authority will not contact citizens regarding personal financial matters.
