L2 Network PGN: It is tentatively scheduled to end operations in June this year. Users can withdraw funds through the cross-chain bridge before then.

2024-01-18 09:30
Odaily News Public Goods Network (PGN), a Layer 2 network based on OP Stack, issued a statement on the From now until June 2024, all assets on PGN can be withdrawn through its cross-chain bridge and other supporting cross-chain bridges (such as Superbridge). PGN also said that if there are other teams or individuals who want to provide support or take over, they are willing to discuss it. PGN explained the reason for the shutdown of the project, saying that it was launched earlier, while Superchain’s interoperability infrastructure and developer tools are still under development. This makes the development of PGN in this emerging environment particularly challenging for a small team. Additionally, encouraging users to migrate without the convenience of a scaled network is a challenge, and the resources required to support this goal are beyond PGNs budget. The low liquidity on the cross-chain bridge, the lack of core infrastructure such as DEX and Safe UI have all caused huge resistance. According to reports, PGN aims to fund the world’s public goods, generate revenue through network sequencer fees and return these funds to the overall public goods. PGN will be launched on the mainnet in July 2023, and in August 2023, Gitcoin Grants 18 will be launched on the Public Goods Network.
