Odaily News Goldman Sachs said in a report on Thursday that the Ethereum Dencun upgrade may take place in the first quarter of 2024, which is the next step for Ethereum to become a scalable settlement layer. The report states: “The main impact of the Dencun upgrade will be to increase the data availability of Layer 2 rollup through proto-danksharding, thereby reducing rollup transaction costs and passing this on to end users.” The report also adds: “Dencun will enhance Ethereum through rollup scalability of the blockchain, and will optimize gas fees, improve network security, and implement some housekeeping updates.
