Houthis Announce Maritime Ban on Saudi Arabia
Odaily reported that on July 20, local time, Yemen's Houthi group issued an official statement announcing a maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia, in response to what it described as Saudi Arabia's "unjust and brutal blockade and aggression." The statement, issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces, took effect immediately upon release. Citing religious texts, the statement enumerated Saudi Arabia's comprehensive blockade of Yemen's ports, airports, and land border crossings over the past twelve years, calling it "without any right or humanitarian justification" and bringing "unbearable suffering" to the Yemeni people. The statement also alleged that Saudi Arabia's recent attack on Sanaa International Airport was a "blatant act of treacherous aggression." (Jin Shi)
