Justin Sun: Bitcoin Needs Considerable Time to Reach Quantum-Resistant Consensus; TRON Plans to Upgrade to a Quantum-Resistant Network by Year-End
Odaily News, at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong, Justin Sun stated that the threat posed by quantum computing to blockchain and the entire financial system is widespread, with traditional banks such as JPMorgan facing similar risks. Due to the highly decentralized nature of the Bitcoin community, which involves multiple participants including miners, exchanges, and WBTC, reaching a quantum-resistant consensus will require a considerable amount of time. Justin Sun stated that TRON has been researching quantum-resistant mechanisms over the past year, having released a quantum-resistant address solution in the first half of this year and launched it on the testnet. The plan is to upgrade the entire network into a mainstream encrypted network with quantum resistance by the end of this year.
