Odaily News: In an interview on August 25, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi stated that Iran remains in a state of war, and the Strait of Hormuz is under the full control and surveillance of the Iranian Armed Forces. It will not be reopened unless Iran agrees, approves, and makes the necessary arrangements. Gharibabadi also warned that, in defense of national security and national interests, if conditions are appropriate, Iran could take "preemptive" action against U.S. targets, rather than waiting for the United States to strike first before defending itself.
