Odaily星球日报讯 Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced that it has integrated perpetual contracts into the Base App via Hyperliquid, allowing eligible users to trade with up to 50x leverage. The product covers over 290 perpetual contract markets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, as well as tokenized stocks and commodities markets.
Coinbase's head of engineering, Chintan Turakhia, stated that perpetual contracts account for approximately 75% of current cryptocurrency trading volume and are the most requested feature by highly active Base App users. Trades are executed by Hyperliquid, and users can access the feature without leaving their existing wallets.
Coinbase stated that the product is not currently available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other jurisdictions that restrict leveraged crypto derivatives. Base previously shifted from social features to trading, payments, and AI agents. Base founder Jesse Pollak noted that prediction markets, perpetual contracts, and stablecoins have become stronger adoption drivers. (Decrypt)
