European stocks mostly opened higher, with tech and pharma shares gaining strength

Odaily News European stocks mostly rose on Monday, after most major indices closed lower last week, with only Germany's DAX index hitting a record high. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index rose 0.2%, led by gains in technology and pharmaceutical stocks. SpaceX supplier STMicroelectronics rose 3%, while ASML and its smaller rival ASM International gained 2.35% and 2.7%, respectively. Dutch pharmaceutical company Argenx led the gains, rising about 7.7%, after the company reported positive clinical trial results. Germany's DAX index and the UK's FTSE 100 index rose 0.02% and 0.3%, respectively, while France's CAC 40 index fell 0.1%. (Jin Shi)
