FlightAware sues Kalshi, alleging unauthorized use of flight data for canceled-flight betting

Odaily News: Flight tracking company FlightAware has sued prediction market platform Kalshi in a New York federal court, alleging that Kalshi used FlightAware's flight data and trademarks without authorization to offer betting on airline flight cancellations.
The complaint states that Kalshi violated FlightAware's license terms and continued to use the relevant data to settle contracts even after receiving a cease-and-desist notice. Even though Kalshi added a disclaimer stating that entering the market was not endorsed by FlightAware, it continued to cite the company's data.
Currently, Kalshi also faces other lawsuits filed by the states of New York, Wisconsin, and Nevada for allegedly operating gambling without a license. (CoinDesk)
