Fantom's PoS consensus mechanism is called Lachesis. With Lachesis, each validator has its local block DAG, batches transactions into event blocks, and adds them as vertices to its DAG structure.

Fantom recently passed agovernance proposal, to start the Gas monetization structure to reward high-quality DApps. According to this proposal, developers can earn 15% of the Gas consumed by the contract as income.

Additionally, Fantom's Ecosystem Vault went live last month. Vault is an on-chain and community-driven fund, Fantom provides 10% of network transaction fees as grants to support new projects and ideas. To date, Vault has attracted over 130,000 FTMs.
