The ETH Shanghai Hackathon is a parallel event of the Ethereum Shanghai Web 3.0 Developer Summit. It is led by Mask Network and co-organized by Gitcoin. It aims to encourage new developers to build creative and innovative applications that can create a new pattern in the Web 3.0 world. The Ethereum Shanghai Web 3.0 Developer Summit is hosted by members of the Ethereum Shanghai (ETH Shanghai) Preparatory Committee (Low Dimension Technology and Omniverse), China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "China Green Development Council") and Co-organized by Business China and supported by the Ethereum Foundation. The Ethereum Shanghai Web 3.0 Developer Summit and Hackathon activities were selected into the "Guidelines for Important Academic Conferences (2022)" selected by the China Association for Science and Technology with the full assistance of the China Green Hair Association, which also reflects the association's professional recognition of the summit and technical concerns about the current Internet.
Sponsors of this hackathon provided developers with more than $140,000 in bonuses to attract developers to use their networks or technologies to build a new generation of social networks. The developer teams participating in the Demo Day come from all over the world, and the judges are from top Web 3.0 projects and related venture capital institutions, including Ethereum Foundation, ConsenSys, Polygon, NEAR, Mask Network, Dragonfly Capital, Digital Currency Group, Hash Global, Y2Z Ventures (accessibleHackathon official websiteCheck out the full list of judges), meanwhile, the Ethereum Foundation also supported the smooth holding of this hackathon.
More than 200 teams emerged from the ETH Shanghai Hackathon to build projects spanning multiple applications, with decentralized social networking being the focus of the project. Several teams responded to popular concepts such as Soul Bound Token and decentralized identity (DID) with projects, involving many very specific Web3 application scenarios, such as email sending, marriage and love, private messages, crowdfunding, business Scenarios, on-chain games, and more. It outlines a rich and diverse future Web3 social picture for us.
