N3twork Studios, a blockchain game developer and publisher, recently completed a $46 million Series A round of financing led by Griffin Gaming Partners, with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Galaxy Interactive, KIP, Floodgate, LLL Capital, and N3twork Inc.
As part of the financing, Griffin Gaming Partners managing director Peter Levin will join the studio's board of directors. It is reported that N3twork Studios was split from N3twork Inc. when Forte acquired N3twork Inc.
The funding will help further develop and launch two of the studio's blockchain games: Legendary: Heroes Unchained and Triumph.
Matt Ricchetti, president of N3twork Studios, said in the announcement, "We are a group of passionate veteran game makers and see a generational opportunity to leverage our expertise building and operating Free-to-Play games to create authentic Web3 experience, and reach millions of players. We believe in the future, the game economy will be more open, and players will own the assets they earn and buy. To achieve this future, not only the core audience of encrypted games needs to be expanded, but also to a large number of Free-to-Play mobile gamers are proving that Web3 can add significant value to their gaming experience."
N3twork Studios was formed in January 2022 from the N3twork Inc. gaming team following Forte's acquisition of the N3twork platform. The team is comprised of more than 60 industry veterans from companies including EA, Kabam, Zynga, Glu, GREE, Scopely, Machine Zone, Warner Brothers and Disney who have built and operated Many successful live streaming services.
N3twork Studios will use its experience in Free-to-Play games as a key advantage in audience-changing influence. The company will apply its capabilities to expand the audience for crypto games and deliver gaming experiences, demonstrating to the world's largest gaming audience that Web3 will benefit all types of players.
