Odaily News: In an interview with Natalie Brunell on July 23, Fred Thiel, CEO of MARA—one of the largest publicly listed Bitcoin mining companies—stated that Bitcoin's opportunity as a payment and exchange medium has passed. For commercial scenarios that require thousands of transactions per second with low profit margins per transaction, even slight fluctuations in Bitcoin's price could alter the actual value received. As a result, commercial applications of cryptocurrency in fields like AI are more likely to be realized through stablecoins. Nevertheless, Bitcoin remains suitable as a store of value that operates outside central control and can be transferred quickly.
