Data: Over 500,000 Korean leveraged retail accounts may have been fully liquidated

Odaily Planet Daily News: The Kobeissi Letter posted on platform X, citing data from Goldman Sachs, that as of July 13, over 1.2 million leveraged retail trading accounts in South Korea triggered margin calls. It is estimated that 320,000 to 360,000 accounts have been fully liquidated, accounting for approximately 3.4% of Korea's adult population. With the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) having fallen about 18% since July 13, it is estimated that the number of accounts that have been fully forcibly liquidated now exceeds 500,000.
