Samsung Electronics will invest 800 billion won in semiconductor and DX startups
Odaily Planet Daily reported on July 30 that Samsung Electronics will invest a total of 800 billion won in semiconductor startups and potential technology reserves for the DX division of its finished product business. This investment is aimed at forming technology and business partnerships through equity investments in semiconductor startups both domestically and internationally.
Among these, Samsung Electronics will invest 505 billion won alongside Samsung Venture Investment to join the new technology business portfolio SVIC No. 82 established by the latter, with Samsung Venture Investment contributing 5 billion won. The portfolio is scheduled to be joined next month, with a duration of 13 years, and contributions will be made in installments when investment projects occur. Samsung Electronics will also invest 303 billion won alongside Samsung Venture Investment to join the new technology business portfolio SVIC No. 83 established by the latter, with Samsung Venture Investment contributing 3 billion won. This portfolio is intended for future technology discovery and business competitiveness reinforcement in the DX division, with a duration of 10 years, and contributions will be made in installments when investment projects occur.
