From Leek Glasses to On-Chain Bullet Screens and DEV Pumping, How Creative is the Solana Online Hackathon

From January 20 to January 30, 2026, the Solana Online Hackathon officially took place, jointly initiated by Trends and the Solana Chinese community. As a fully online development event, this hackathon used X as the primary platform for project submission and showcase. Developers directly presented their projects to the community and judges for public review by posting project introductions, code, and demo links.

Unlike traditional hackathons that rely on a unified backend for submissions, this event adopted a more open participation model. Competing projects were showcased on a public timeline, allowing judges and community members to directly test, interact with, and provide feedback on them. This low-barrier, high-exposure selection mechanism led to a concentrated emergence of many product-oriented and experience-focused projects in a short period.

During the ten-day submission and review cycle, participating projects covered various directions including trading & strategy bots, Alpha discovery tools, internet capital markets, and consumer & entertainment applications. Compared to emphasizing grand narratives or underlying infrastructure, the projects that emerged from this hackathon focused more on real-world use cases, attempting to address long-standing issues such as trading efficiency, information noise, and user experience through AI, automation, and gamification.

The following is a detailed review by Odaily of the award-winning projects from this Solana Online Hackathon.

Hackathon Champion

The MM Hunter (Prize: $4,000)

Project Introduction: The MM Hunter is a LightGBM-based order book quantitative trading project. It uses machine learning to analyze Binance order book structure and market maker behavior, and leverages the Orderly Network API to achieve automated trade execution.

Project Introduction: An automated trading workflow built around macroeconomic data. It instantly parses official data sources upon key data releases, combines quantitative rules to determine market Risk-On / Risk-Off status, and automatically executes trades via the Binance API according to preset strategies.

• Real-time Macro Data Parsing: Monitors official economic data sources (e.g., Labor Department, Commerce Department), fetching and parsing data immediately upon release.

Project Introduction: A Solana on-chain Alpha capture system for crypto communities and research teams. It monitors large pools of smart money addresses in seconds, filters for on-chain consensus buy signals, and completes the full loop of alerting, verification, and dissemination within DingTalk.

• Scalable Address Pool: Supports long-term monitoring and real-time alerts for pools ranging from hundreds to thousands or tens of thousands of addresses.
• Alerts with Information Pack: DingTalk messages directly include project descriptions and Twitter information (automatically scraped, AI-parsed, and auto-translated), allowing users to view wallet activity without needing to jump to another page.
