TradFi is Gate's traditional financial asset Contract for Difference (CFD) trading section, allowing users to participate in price trading of global mainstream traditional assets such as forex, metals, indices, commodities, and popular stocks within the same account system, without the need to physically hold the underlying assets. Following the web version launch, users can flexibly switch between the mobile app and the web platform, with account funds, risk control systems, and position data remaining consistent, enhancing overall trading continuity and operational efficiency.
At the account and asset management level, Gate TradFi continues the unified account architecture. Users do not need to open additional separate accounts; they can simultaneously trade both cryptocurrency assets and traditional financial assets under the same Gate account, covering the three major sections of spot, derivatives, and TradFi. This supports cross-market portfolio strategies and multi-asset allocation, reducing the complexity associated with operating across multiple platforms.
Regarding the fund system, TradFi uses USDT as the collateral asset. After users transfer USDT to the TradFi sub-account, the system will automatically display it as the internal pricing unit USDx at a 1:1 ratio, with no additional exchange or custody fees. The overall operational path is relatively clear. After completing the version upgrade or logging in via the web, users can enter the TradFi section, activate relevant permissions, and then proceed to transfer funds, select trading instruments, and manage orders and positions, which helps lower the entry barrier for traditional financial asset trading.
In terms of trading mechanisms, Gate TradFi adopts a CFD rule system aligned with traditional financial markets, including fixed trading hours and market closures, cross-margin mode, and long-short position hedging mechanisms.
