Stacks Latam Hackathon Retrospective

Hackathon Overview

The Stacks Latam Hackathon was held online from October 6th to 26th, 2025. The event attracted 216 developers to register, and 39 projects (BUIDLs) were shortlisted, aiming to promote the development of the Web3 ecosystem in Latin America. This Hackathon was co-hosted by the Stacks community and DoraHacks, with the goal of promoting the application and community building of Stacks technology in Latin America.

The entries covered a wide range of areas, including DeFi, decentralized social networking, asset tokenization, developer tools, and innovative applications based on sBTC. The projects submitted by participants were diverse, including decentralized lending solutions, NFT platforms, and innovative tools to improve blockchain interoperability and asset tokenization. The total prize pool for this Hackathon was $5,000 worth of STX tokens. Outstanding teams were also invited to participate in the Stacks Foundation Hacker House and the Bitcoin Builder Event in Buenos Aires, gaining further industry networking and innovation opportunities.

Throughout the event, participants received a range of resources, including community support, online workshops, and one-on-one mentoring from industry experts. These resources not only fostered teamwork but also provided substantial assistance in bringing projects from conception to implementation. This Hackathon further strengthened connections among developers in Latin America, showcased the region's strong technological potential, and laid the foundation for deeper integration with the Stacks ecosystem. Following the event, Hackathon successfully drove community growth and promoted the understanding and application of decentralized technologies in Latin America.

First Prize

• B2Pix is a privacy-focused peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading platform that integrates the Brazilian PIX bank with Bitcoin through Stacks blockchain smart contracts. The project supports sBTC, features a built-in wallet and automatic privacy controls, enabling direct and secure financial transactions.

Second Prize

• Stacks Builder: Asistente IA — an AI-assisted retrieval and enhancement generation system designed specifically for Clarity smart contract development. This solution employs a multi-language technical architecture, including a Go backend, a Python RAG pipeline, and a TypeScript MCP server, supporting production-level workflows for developers.

Third Prize

• TrustChain is a blockchain-based platform that anchors the SHA-256 hashes of NGO invoices to Stacks, ensuring immutable and publicly verifiable expenditure records. This approach provides charitable organizations with the transparency of cryptographic endorsement, helping to build their credibility.
