“1 million NFTs, 1,200 testnet transactions, over 100 withdrawals, 8 months of weekly activity, over 50 mainnet interactions, 0.05 ETH mainnet balance, over $50,000 in mainnet transactions, wallet age over 4 years, and yet I’m not eligible for the Monad token airdrop.”
Last night, the Monad airdrop query was finally launched, and the worries of the "money-grabbing party" were finally put to rest. Almost all the people who participated in the test network interaction in the early stage were "reverse-grabbed".
Who received the Monad airdrop?
According to official information, Monad will distribute tokens to 5,500 Monad community members and nearly 225,000 members of the cryptocurrency community. The specific distribution method for these 225,000 "broader crypto community users" is as follows:
- DEX trading users: users who trade on the Hyperliquid platform and Phantom Wallet (spot and perpetual contracts), corresponding to the EVM/Solana chain;
- Meme trading users: users who participate in Meme coin transactions on platforms such as Pump.fun and Virtuals, corresponding to the EVM/Solana chain;
- DeFi depositors: This includes users who deposit large amounts of funds into mainstream decentralized finance protocols such as Aave, Euler, Morpho, Pendle, Lighter, Curve, PancakeSwap, and Uniswap.
- DAO governance users: participants who have recently been active in the DAO governance of major DeFi protocols on Ethereum;
- Long-term NFT holders: This includes well-known NFT holders such as Azuki, Chimpers, CryptoPunks, Doodles, Fluffle, Hypurr, Mad Lads, Meebits, Milady Maker, Moonbirds, Pudgy Penguins, Redacted Remilio Babies, Sappy Seals, Solana Monkey Business, and Wassies, corresponding to the EVM/Solana chain;
- Monad Card holders: These holders are mostly KOLs and Web3 media on the X platform;
- Mainstream platform users: Legion fundraising platform participants, Backpack users, and Fantasy Top hero players;
- Active users in the partner community: MetaDAO token holders, ARC community members, active participants in the LobsterDAO Telegram group, and well-known Farcaster users;
- Security experts and researchers: Monad specifically includes ZachXBT, a well-known cryptocurrency detective, members of the SEAL 911 organization, Cantina selected auditors who have made important audit findings, and Protocol Guild members identified by reviewing Splits contracts.
In addition, the addresses that received the airdrop are divided into 6 levels, and the specific number of tokens has not yet been announced:
- Community Last???
- You're cooked
- Permament underclass
- Mid, but we like you
- Top 99%
- Participation Award

The Monad airdrop distribution details were completely unsatisfactory to the community. For one thing, Monad distributed tokens to only 5,500 community members, a significantly small number. Community feedback indicated that early users who actively participated in the testnet were almost completely wiped out, while the official lack of public disclosure of the specific screening criteria raised questions about transparency. Furthermore, the majority of the airdrop went to "on-chain active users" with little connection to the Monad project, leaving early participants who genuinely supported the ecosystem disappointed.

Testnet users who were “reverse-rolled” may have no choice but to “fleece the exchanges”
Regardless of the criticism or criticism, the opportunity to "get some money" should not be missed. Although early users have suffered serious "anti-money" situations, Monad is still one of the hottest projects. Major major exchanges will likely list it simultaneously with its TGE launch, and may launch multiple token airdrops at that time. The specific token airdrop plan is as follows:
"Save enough" Binance Alpha Points or hold BNB tokens
Last month, most popular projects allocated a certain amount of tokens to Binance Alpha for airdrops, with many even giving Binance Alpha users a significantly higher share than those who participated in the project early on. Therefore, despite the numerous "low-value" airdrops on Binance Alpha since October, it's still worthwhile to continue accumulating points before the Monad TGE. Perhaps Monad will be the "next big thing" for Binance Alpha. Furthermore, popular projects like Monad may be listed on Binance's spot exchange, which would allow BNB holders to receive MON tokens.
The token airdrop activities of major exchanges are also worth paying attention to
Generally speaking, for hot projects like Monad, most mainstream centralized exchanges will list contracts and spot trading. In order to attract users to trade, there will be different token reward plans, such as depositing U to "get free tokens", earning tokens by trading, and earning tokens by inviting new users, which is worth paying attention to.
In addition, the next OKX Boost project may also be Monad. You need to weigh your wallet balance and trading volume to determine whether you need to "top up" in order to qualify for the airdrop.
So, with almost everyone on the Monad testnet being “anti-scaling,” is it still worthwhile for “scalpers” to interact with Monad ecosystem projects? Or should they “change their thinking” and focus on getting token airdrops through methods like Binance Alpha or OKX Boost?
