This afternoon, Linea, the Ethereum Layer 2 network under ConsenSys ( click here for basic information about the Linea project ), announced on the X platform that it is now open for airdrop inquiries (link: https://linea.build/hub/airdrop ) and will hold a TGE on September 10.

Therefore, Odaily Planet Daily quickly sorted out a few things you need to know before Linea TGE.

9% of the total supply will be used for airdrops with no lock-up period

According to official documentation, the total supply of Linea tokens is 72,009,990,000, equivalent to 1,000 times the initial circulating supply of ETH. Its distribution method echoes Ethereum's genesis distribution to demonstrate its long-term alignment with the broader ecosystem, with 85% of the supply dedicated to the ecosystem and the remaining 15% allocated to the Consensys treasury. The detailed token distribution ratio is as follows:

• Early Contributors: 10% of the total token supply. Early adopters will receive 9% of the total token supply, which will be airdropped at the TGE with no lock-up period. This distribution will be made to users who have received LXP. An additional 1% of the total token supply will be reserved for strategic builders within the Linea ecosystem and fully unlocked at the TGE.
• Ecosystem: 75% of the total token supply. This portion of tokens will be allocated to the Ecosystem Fund (to be established as a non-stock entity headquartered in the United States), which will be managed by the Linea Alliance (a council composed of Ethereum native developers), including ENS Labs, Eigen Labs, SharpLink, Status, and Consensys.
• Treasury: 15% of the total token supply. This portion of tokens will be locked for five years and cannot be transferred during the lockup period, but can be deployed within the ecosystem, such as as liquidity or staking funds, to support the health and consistency of the protocol.

Linea Token Economic Model

In addition, approximately 22% of the token supply (15.8 billion LINEA tokens) will be available for circulation at the TGE, including airdrops to early contributors, ecosystem activation programs, and allocations for liquidity provision.

Who is eligible for the airdrop?

Users holding at least 2,000 LXP or 1,500 LXP-L are eligible for the airdrop (eligible addresses must meet the activity threshold and not be identified as Sybil accounts). According to official information, the airdrop totals 9,361,298,700 LINEA, distributed to 749,662 eligible addresses.

In addition, Linea has prepared token bonus rewards for some active addresses. The specific rules are as follows:

• Active addresses before EIP-4844 upgrade : Completed at least one transaction between the mainnet launch and March 27, 2024.
• Active addresses after the LXP Voyages event : Between August 1, 2024 (block height: 7533487) and June 30, 2025 (block height: 20473167), there must have been contract interactions in at least 6 different months (the months do not have to be consecutive).
• MetaMask usage address : At any time before June 30, 2025 (block height: 7533487), use Linea's MetaMask exchange or bridge, MetaMask staking, or MetaMask card. If any of these points are met, you can get a 10% increase (not cumulative).

LXP level determines the number of tokens allocated

Linea’s reward system adopts a hierarchical design. LXP holders are divided into seven levels. The higher the level, the larger the LINEA share obtained (LXP query link: https://dune.com/linea/tge-boost-checker ). The specific LXP levels are:

• Tier 1: 2,000 - 2,999 LXP;
• Tier 2: 3,000 - 3,999 LXP;
• Tier 3: 4,000 - 4,499 LXP;
• Tier 4: 4,500 - 4,999 LXP;
• Tier 5: 5,000 - 6,499 LXP;
• Tier 6: 6,500 - 7,999 LXP;
• Tier 7: 8,000+ LXP.

Distribution within the same tier is proportional to the amount held. For example, a user holding 5,500 LXP will receive more tokens than a user holding 5,300 LXP.

Airdrop Claim Time and Rules

The airdrop will officially launch on September 10th and last for three months, ending on December 9th. All eligible token shares will be released at once, eliminating the need for users to worry about vesting or tranche unlocking. However, if shares are not claimed within the deadline, they will be automatically withdrawn after December 9th and re-injected into the Linea Ecosystem Fund.

Airdrops still available: Linea Liquidity Incentive Program

Linea officially announced that it will launch the liquidity incentive program Linea Ignition, planning to distribute 1 billion LINEA tokens as incentives to attract an additional US$1 billion TVL for Linea.

The campaign will run until October 26, 2025. Eligible partners at launch include Ethereum, Aave, and Euler, with Turtle Club expected to be added later. 40% of the token incentive will be unlocked on October 27, with the remaining 60% unlocked linearly over 45 days.
