Hackathon Overview
The Chiliz Sports Hackathon - Build For Passion recently concluded with a range of digital sports solutions on display. The event saw 262 developers participating in 20 projects, showing a high level of engagement in creating decentralized applications (dApps) that enhance the fan experience. The Hackathon focused on interactivity, engagement and ownership in the digital sports space.
Projects in the Hackathon drew inspiration from previous Chiliz Chain achievements, such as the Socios.com app. This platform integrates rewards for fan engagement and offers unique digital and physical memorabilia. Fan Tokens became a core theme, highlighting a new standard of fan loyalty and engagement.
The Hackathon ran from July 11th to July 13th, with project submissions. While no specific winning projects were announced, the event highlighted the ability of developers to create impactful solutions for the sports and entertainment industries. The Hackathon showcased the continued evolution of the fan engagement platform on Chiliz Chain, designed to enrich the digital fan experience.
Hackathon Winning Projects
fanWatch enhances the sports viewing experience by linking on-chain wallet data with off-chain IDs to virtual fan rooms. It uses pay-to-watch smart contracts on the Chiliz testnet and plans to transition to a stake-to-watch model.
Corner Kick introduces a play-to-earn model in a football manager game on the CHZ platform. The project combines player training and competitive matches to provide a strategic environment for earning in-game rewards.
NFTNetball combines gaming with blockchain through an idle game, allowing players to stake NFTs to earn ERC 20 tokens. The in-game economy facilitates the acquisition of new players, driving strategic growth and blockchain engagement.
