OKX Ventures partner Jeff Ren was invited to attend the "Aptos Experience" event on September 5, 2024, and hosted a roundtable forum on the theme of "APAC's Investment Potential & Key Drivers for Adoption".

The roundtable brought together industry leaders including Mo Shaik, CEO and co-founder of Aptos Labs, James Zhang, founder of Jambo, and Vincent Park, head of investment at IRONGREY, to discuss the growth and development of the Web3 ecosystem in the Asia-Pacific region.

The main highlights of this roundtable forum include:

1) The importance of strong infrastructure: The roundtable members highlighted the evolution of Web3 infrastructure, with popular blockchains such as Aptos as representatives. They pointed out in the discussion that strong infrastructure is essential for the growth of the application layer, with projects such as Jambo Phone and OKX Web3 Wallet as examples.

2) Connecting Web2 and Web3: Jambo innovatively launched a Web3 phone priced at US$99 for the Southeast Asian market. Through convenient hardware and pre-installed Web3 applications, it has become an excellent example of bringing Web2 users into the Web3 ecosystem.

3) Developer Engagement: Aptos Labs’ strategy of actively engaging with young Korean developers, communities, and students has become a successful model for driving regional innovation and technology adoption.

4) Convergence of AI and Web3: The roundtable explored the potential synergies between AI and Web3 technologies, emphasizing the need for decentralized and secure data access. The discussion also touched on the potential of AI in content generation and considered related regulatory issues.

5) Regional Focus: IRONGREY’s strategy of investing in the infrastructure and application layers demonstrates the potential of the Asia-Pacific region, and more Web3 innovations are expected to emerge in the region in the future.

Prior to this event, OKX Ventures and Aptos Foundation just announced the launch of a $10 million fund to support the growth of the Aptos ecosystem and the mass adoption of Web3.
