More and more project parties are beginning to launch point systems to encourage users to actively participate and improve user retention and loyalty. This is also widely regarded as an effective traffic-draining strategy before the airdrop is released. For users, not only can they get potential clear rewards, but they can also get corresponding proportions of incentives based on their contributions.

Of course, attention also needs to be paid to balancing incentives and economic sustainability when designing and implementing a points system. Reasonable points models and strategies are key to ensuring the sustainable development of the points system in the short and medium term.

Blast

Blast is a Layer 2 network launched by Blur founder Pacman in late November and is supported by Paradigm, Standard Crypto and eGirl Capital. The income provided by Blast (initially) comes from Lido and MakerDAO. Lidos income comes from the ETH pledge rate, and MakerDAOs income comes from on-chain US bonds. In the holder points plan, you can earn holder points by depositing BLUR, which can be withdrawn at any time. When Blast governance goes live in May 2024, distribution will be based on users total holder points (holder points x multiplier). Holders can earn 1 point for each BLUR they hold per hour. Additionally, the multiplier starts at 1x and increases by 0.5x every month after the user makes their first deposit.

In the Blur points program, points can be earned through bidding, listing, and lending. Bidding and listing credits apply to all collections and are issued at the same rate. The bid that takes the highest risk gets the vast majority of points. Lending points are only applicable to collections supported by the Blend protocol. Lending points are issued at half the rate of bidding and listing points.

Manta Network is a modular L2 protocol. ether.fi is a liquidity staking platform that allows minting eETH to earn ETH staking rewards, ether.fi points, and EigenLayer points. In February 2023, ether.fi completed US$5.3 million in financing, with North Island Ventures, Chapter One and Node Capital co-leading the investment, and BitMex founder Arthur Hayes participating in the investment.

Scallop is a lending protocol on Sui. Scallop launched the airdrop points system in early January and has completed the snapshot before January 1, 2024.

Grass currently has a referral program and points campaign. Grass has said it will reward early adopters, with those points retroactively converted into network ownership at the end of the test.
