The establishment of CoinWHK and application for a VASP license also marks that CoinW will accelerate its expansion into the Hong Kong market.

The worlds largest AI Web3 investment summit in 2023, the EDGE Summit will be held in Hong Kong on September 26-27. Cryptocurrency trading platform CoinW attended the summit with thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, academics, popular project parties, etc. from all over the world. At the same time, CoinW Global Chief Communications Officer Carmen Tan was invited to discuss How Alpha was born in the encryption market with industry investors.

Hong Kong regards AIWeb3 as an important economic growth point

The EDGE Summit is known as the pinnacle event in the fields of artificial intelligence and Web3. The first summit was held in Hong Kong, followed by Dubai, London and Silicon Valley. This time, this transnational summit returned to Hong Kong again and received support from key departments of the Hong Kong government.

At the opening ceremony, Chung Wai-keung, former deputy director of the Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Bureau, said that Hong Kong actively embraces transformative technologies and regards AIWeb3 as an important economic growth point. We are promoting cooperation from all walks of life at the government level.

At the same time, he also shared Hong Kong’s development plan in the field of AIWeb3 within two years. Since this year, Hong Kong has begun to promote the implementation of relevant top-level projects. As of May, about 84,000 related projects have applied to land in Hong Kong, of which 49,000 projects have received approval to operate in Hong Kong. This is also an important step for Hong Kong to attract global AIWeb3 talents. Hong Kong plans to attract at least 1,100 multinational companies to set up branches in Hong Kong between 2023 and 2025.

CoinW is about to set up a Hong Kong branch

In addition to setting up an independent booth at the summit, Carmen Tan, CoinW’s newly appointed global chief communications officer, was also invited to participate in a roundtable discussion with the theme “Looking ahead: How Alpha was born in the crypto market.” Carmen said that the global crypto market is still in a bear market, and various countries are becoming more and more strict on crypto asset-related policies. Under this premise, CoinW did two things. First, adhering to the premise of safety and compliance, apply for relevant operating licenses in the country where the business is located in advance to serve CoinWs globalization; second, go deep into the field of education. Earlier this year, CoinW launched content products such as CoinW Academy to serve investors at different levels. Because in her view, no matter how the market fluctuates, investment decisions should be based on in-depth research and comprehensive information.

At the same time, CoinW is also about to launch a new branch CoinWHK in Hong Kong, aiming to provide localized products and services to Hong Kong users. In addition, CoinW has hired a local lawyer in Hong Kong and will start the process of applying for a VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) license in Hong Kong.

On June 1 this year, the Hong Kong government officially implemented the cryptocurrency exchange licensing system, opening up retail investors to invest and purchase cryptocurrency. Opening CoinWHK and applying for a VASP license also marks CoinW’s accelerated expansion into the Hong Kong market.
