STEPN becomes the world's first blockchain game application integrating Apple Pay, users will not need to use encrypted wallets to purchase NFT
On May 22, 2023, STEPN announced that it has become the world's first blockchain game application to successfully integrate Apple Pay.
This landmark integration enables users to purchase STEPN products and upgrades within the STEPN app using Apple Pay as an easy and secure payment method. Users only need to add their bank cards to their Apple Wallet and do not need to use an encrypted wallet to make transactions.
According to reports, STEPN is the first sports and income application hosted on the App Store, using crypto incentives to reward users for sports. Users buy non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of virtual sneakers, sync their phones, and earn rewards when they walk, jog, or run. Since its inception in 2021, STEPN has quickly become one of the most popular Web3 applications, attracting a thriving community of 2-3 million monthly active users.
With this move, users can add their credit/debit card to Apple Wallet on iPhone, which greatly simplifies the payment process and lowers the entry barrier for purchasing NFT, such as connecting encrypted wallets. This brings enhanced security protections as the user's card details are not stored within either app.
