There's a lot to like about Super Bowl LVI this year.
The Cincinnati Bengals could win their first NFL title in the city, as San Francisco's Joe Montana beat them twice in the 1980s.
Or the Los Angeles Rams could become the first team to win a Super Bowl at home. Last year, Tom Brady's Buccaneers won in Tampa.
These are just the ads we already know about, though, and they were pre-announced. In addition to these commercials, it is also widely expected that there may be some sort of BAYC shoutout during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, as performers Snoop Dogg and Eminem both own BAYC.
From Matt Damon to LeBron James to Kevin Durant, cryptocurrency companies have been using the faces of celebrities to plant the Web3 banner in America's consciousness.

So, do these ads push some people who haven't been exposed to cryptocurrencies before to get involved? Or will they make people give up, or irritate those who already see cryptocurrencies as a scam?
Probably both. Stay tuned to us during the contest for full updates on each cryptocurrency ad as it appears.
Beer brand Bud Light is the first to appear (6:50 p.m. ET)Budweiser — a regular at every Super Bowl — was the first to showcase some cryptocurrencies at this year's game. At 6:50 p.m. ET, the beer giant released its new drinkAds for Bud Light N3XT
, which includes an acknowledgment of its participation in the Noun DAOs NFT series.

But the allusion is subtle, with the ad showing blocky glasses, an identity for the Noun DAOs NFT collection, superimposed on a gallery painting.
The Budweiser ad isn't a surprise, since the company said it would do just that last week. Meanwhile, the reaction on Twitter was dominated by comments about what exactly Budweiser was promoting.
Coinbase Gives Free Bitcoins (7:07 PM ET)CoinbaseThe second cryptocurrency ad in the first quarter so far!
Google's first Super Bowl ad did something clever: It was a 60-second ad made up of floating QR codes in different colors. It's unclear how many people held up their phone cameras to scan the QR code, but either way, the answer was that it kicked off an offer of $15 in free bitcoin -- but only for new customers.

So far, the ad appears to be getting a lot of traffic on Twitter, with people praising its originality. Meanwhile, the ad appears to be popular among the canine community, as this tweet shows.

It looks like the ad got such a reaction that people tweeted that the site has been temporarily down. (Not a great thing for Coinbase, but all the hype probably means a net gain for it).

However... US "Prism" program whistleblower Snowden tweeted and accused, "Coinbase spent $16 million on Super Bowl ads designed to direct people to their website, but spent $0 to make sure the site doesn't crash 10 seconds after the ad starts, that's pretty internet."
TurboTax mentions cryptocurrencies (7:45 p.m. ET)

Finally, in modern times, when confronted with the FTX mobile app, he said,". (The ad said, don't be like Larry.)

It had been announced that there would be a Super Bowl ad, but Larry David was a surprise. The ad, like Coinbase's ad, includes elements of giving away bitcoins.

Crypto.com"Young" LeBron vs. "Older" LeBron (8:25 p.m. ET)
"The ad aired minutes after halftime, with a young LeBron James chatting with an older LeBron James."At its core, this really is a story about all of us. We've all had to make these big, brave decisions that affect our future,
Crypto.com creative director Ben Lay said in a behind-the-scenes video teasing the ad.

An ad for suddenly appears.

Instead of opening with an A-list celebrity, the ad starts with something more relatable: a confused guy staring at his phone. In addition, a Shiba Inu appeared in the ad.

Maybe it worked? At least one Decrypt reader seems to think so:
