to test on.Kintsugi After an early release of four short devnets,
A long-standing public testnet is now officially live! While client development and UX are still being refined, theWe encourage the community to start using the Kintsugi testnet to familiarize themselves with the merged Ethereum environment. For application developers, aspreviously explainedlike that, there will not be much change
. Tools that only interact with the consensus or execution layers are also largely unaffected. The infrastructure that relies on the consensus and execution layers will most likely need to be tuned to support the merge. We recommend that most projects start testing and prototyping on Kintsugi
, to detect any potential problems as quickly as possible. This way, resulting changes can be more easily incorporated into future client and specification versions.

Next step
Next stepThe Kintsugi testnet provides an opportunity for the community to try out the merged Ethereum and begin to identify any issues. Once the feedback information is incorporated into client software and merged specifications,The final series of testnets will be launched.
At the same time, testing efforts will continue to increase. After that, the existing long-standing testnet will run through the merge.
Once these testnets are upgraded and stabilized, the next step is the transition of the Ethereum mainnet to PoS.For those who want to track the progress of the merge at a more granular level, check out the current publicMainnet Merge Readiness Checklist
