Odaily News: The U.S. 30-year Treasury yield continued to climb, rising to an intraday high of 5.40%, marking its highest level since June 2007. Odaily News: The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit. The complaint alleges that the funds in question were derived from Iran's sanctions-evading sales of crude oil and petroleum products, and were used to support the Iranian government, military, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The complaint alleges that Iran laundered over $1.5 billion in oil sales proceeds through cryptocurrency participants in Asian countries and elsewhere. Blessed Trust and Hexa Whale are accused of processing funds through relevant transaction accounts and transferring them to the Iranian government, proxies, or related entities; both companies also provided crypto-to-fiat on-ramp and off-ramp services to customers and had used the U.S. financial system to send and receive tens of millions of dollars.
U.S. Associate Deputy Attorney General Sean S. Buckley stated that the funds in question could have been used to support military operations and terrorist activities targeting the United States and its allies. The complaint also states that Tether will burn the crypto tokens in the addresses involved, issue equivalent replacement tokens, and transfer them to a wallet controlled by the U.S. government.
Odaily reports that DeFi analyst Jordi in Cryptoland posted on X stating that historical data shows Uniswap's activation of the Fee Switch did not weaken its competitiveness—its market share not only held steady but even increased. Before the fee switch was turned on, Uniswap accounted for 21% of total DEX trading volume; immediately after the switch was flipped, its share remained essentially flat; now, with the onboarding of the Robinhood channel, its share has risen to 31%.
Today, Uniswap's value capture capability is also stronger. Protocol monthly revenue started from zero and has now stabilized at around $7.2 million. Compared to its multi-billion-dollar valuation, this figure is not particularly impressive (the P/E ratio remains above 40x), but with market share increasing by 10 percentage points while monthly revenue jumped from zero to $7.2 million, this is absolutely a massive milestone.
According to BitcoinTreasuries.NET on X, Bitcoin treasury company Strategy's market cap has surpassed that of US automaker Ford, making it the 200th largest publicly listed company in the United States.
Odaily reports: Jason Smith, Chairman of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee, has unveiled the 114-page "Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act" (H.R. 10357), which proposes exempting taxes on network or transaction fees below $10, with a committee markup scheduled for 10 a.m. on September 16.
The bill stipulates that users who conducted more than 5,000 transfers in the previous year would not be eligible for the aforementioned fee exemption. A companion bill aims to bring digital assets under wash sale rules and constructive sale rules, while excluding qualified U.S. dollar stablecoins, and is projected to raise $2.074 billion in revenue for fiscal years 2026 through 2036.
The companion bill would also allow miners and stakers to defer income from newly generated tokens until the time of sale, with an estimated ten-year fiscal cost of $2.956 billion. Republican committee members are considering removing the relevant provisions or limiting the deferral period to five years. (Bitcoin.com News)

Odaily Planet Daily News: European stocks opened broadly lower again, with selling in Italy particularly heavy. The overall backdrop remains firmly risk-off. Brent crude is trading above $107 per barrel, as another attack on Saudi energy infrastructure this week sparked fresh supply concerns, while the 10-year US Treasury yield has risen above 5.02%, the highest since 2007. The combination has intensified inflation worries just one day before the Fed decides its next monetary policy move, with Italy's benchmark index leading the decline after a sharp selloff yesterday, with bank stocks especially under pressure again. Yesterday's selloff also hit tech stocks (Prysmian and STMicroelectronics).
US futures also point to declines, with S&P 500 futures down about 0.4% after Wall Street was led lower by tech stocks yesterday. Nasdaq futures are currently down 0.3% on the day. The key issue for stocks right now is not just one thing going wrong, but the combined effect of oil above $100, US Treasury yields above 5%, a more hawkish Fed outlook, and lingering AI uncertainty. Odaily reports that according to GMGN data, the market cap of Robinhood chain ecosystem token STANDARD has risen above $40 million, currently at $43.11 million.
It is reported that The Standard Reserve bills itself as an "onchain sovereign central bank," aiming to replace traditional central banks or DAO governance with approximately 4,000 lines of immutable smart contract code to achieve automated monetary policy. The protocol adjusts STANDARD issuance based on the net flow of ETH in Uniswap v4's official trading pools, and adjusts reserve assets, protocol-owned liquidity, and token buyback-and-burn arrangements when there are net capital inflows or outflows, respectively.
Odaily reminds users that Meme coin prices are highly volatile, and investors should participate with caution.
Odaily News: Mark Zandi, Chief Economist at Moody's, posted on X this morning: "The odds that the Fed is making a serious policy error are uncomfortably high and rising. The market is all but certain the Fed will hike rates by 25 basis points at next week's meeting, and is pricing in expectations of further hikes ahead. However, current economic growth is already near potential output (real GDP growth at 2%) and at full employment (unemployment slightly above 4%). Yes, inflation is indeed elevated, currently running above 3%; but much of that stems from energy price increases and tariff shocks—supply-side shocks that rate hikes cannot resolve, and whose effects would naturally fade over time as long as inflation expectations remain stably anchored (which they currently are). If the Fed tightens monetary policy to bring inflation down faster, it would inevitably push economic growth below potential output—and that is nearly impossible to achieve without triggering layoffs, a spike in unemployment, and a worsening negative feedback loop. The thornier challenge is that only AI-related investment appears to be propping up the economy right now, while the non-AI real economy is already struggling. To hit its inflation target, the Fed must either suppress the AI boom or impose heavier pressure on other sectors of the economy. Neither is a good option. Of course, the Fed doesn't have to choose between the two—it could simply hold steady and wait for the right moment."
Tom Lee commented: "I agree with Mark Zandi. As he pointed out, the Fed doesn't have to choose between the two—it could simply hold steady and wait for the right moment. According to Goldman Sachs' estimates, supply-side shocks pushing up core PCE currently contribute about 1.75 percentage points, and will naturally fade by 100 basis points by early 2027 (down to 0.75 percentage points). Since core PCE will fall by 100 basis points on its own even without rate hikes, why hike at all?"
Odaily News: Renowned American investigative blogger Kevin Bass posted on X platform exposing the conspiracy behind Anthropic's "AI Doom Theory." After reviewing Anthropic's financial relationships, he found that the company may have formed a "regulatory capture machine" driven by funding relationships, and called for a congressional investigation.
Anthropic shares held by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz were placed into the Good Ventures Foundation, which is a major funder of AI safety organizations such as METR and is also the institution behind organizations promoting "AI Doom Theory." It is worth noting that Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei previously proposed having third-party institutions assess AI model risks, and listed METR as one of the relevant institutions.
Based on this, Kevin Bass questioned whether such third-party institutions can truly independently assess Anthropic and AI risks. He even suggested that the greater the influence of "AI Doom Theory," the more regulators and the public will demand that more independent third-party assessment institutions evaluate Anthropic. These assessment institutions receive more funding, but may never produce findings that Claude's latest models are fatally dangerous, creating a potential closed loop of interests among Anthropic's valuation growth, AI risk narratives, regulatory demands, and assessment institutions obtaining funding.
