Binance CFO replaced after $6.3 billion hack, Justin Yek takes over

Odaily reports: Binance Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kaiser Ng is departing, ending his more than five-year tenure at Binance. Binance co-CEO He Yi stated that Ng has decided to pursue a new career direction, and the two parties have implemented a handover plan over the past six months. Justin Yek will serve as the new CFO.

Ng joined Binance in January 2022, having previously worked at cryptocurrency exchange Kraken for approximately five years. Justin Yek previously served as Vice President of Finance at payment platform Airwallex. The personnel change comes several days after Binance suffered a hack of approximately $6.3 billion. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) previously identified North Korea as responsible for the attack. Binance subsequently stated that it had covered approximately 90% of the stolen assets and pledged to fully compensate users. (Bloomberg)
