Cryptocurrency withdrawals suspended, Coincheck cancels some requests citing external service failure
Odaily reports that Coincheck announced that, due to a failure of the external on-chain analytics service it uses, the platform has experienced delays in processing cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal requests since 0:04 JST on November 5. Coincheck has suspended accepting new cryptocurrency withdrawal requests and has canceled some requests that had not yet been processed; some requests are being temporarily held and will be re-reviewed once the system is restored. Assets corresponding to the canceled requests have been returned to users' account balances, and deposit processing delays are still ongoing. Coincheck stated that the incident was caused by an external service failure, that no unauthorized access occurred on the platform, and that there was no security incident affecting user assets; custodied assets remain securely stored. Once the system is restored, Coincheck will process the relevant requests gradually and will separately announce the restoration time.
