BitMart Founder Says Security Team Severely Understaffed, Roughly $391,000 in Suspicious Transfers Went to Wallet Tied to Mercado Bitcoin Attack
Odaily reports: Sheldon Xia, founder of cryptocurrency exchange BitMart, said on Wednesday that the company's security team is currently severely understaffed. Threats against employees and suspected retaliation by former employees have made it more difficult to retain technical staff; he said the team is still doing its best to protect data and assets.
Blockchain analytics firm Bitquery identified approximately $391,000 in transfers suspected to have originated from BitMart-related wallets, involving three blockchains. Bitquery said the funds flowed to a wallet also linked to an attack on Brazilian trading platform Mercado Bitcoin. (Cointelegraph)
