The highest annual issuance rate will be reduced to 1.6%, with NEAR governance voting approving a 24-month phased implementation
Odaily reports: NEAR Protocol has announced that its on-chain governance body, House of Stake, has voted to approve reducing NEAR's maximum annual issuance rate from 2.5% to 1.6%, to be implemented in phases over 24 months. After the proposal is reviewed and approved by the House of Stake Security Committee, there will be an approximately 90-day grace period, after which validators will adopt it through a protocol upgrade; the issuance rate will be gradually lowered per epoch, reaching 1.6% by the 24th month. Quarterly reports will track whether actual issuance aligns with the plan.
