Slow Mist CISO Recommends Investigating the Binance Hack Around Private Key Leakage Paths and Anomalous Withdrawal Tools
Odaily reports that according to monitoring by 23pds, Slow Mist Chief Information Security Officer 23pds stated that in Binance's incident of assets being stolen all at once, the attacker's intrusion path for bypassing the risk control system still needs to be confirmed, and the directions to be investigated include private key leakage or the signing machine being compromised. 23pds leans toward the hypothesis of private key leakage and stated that the attacker most likely used customized withdrawal tools. It is recommended that the security department conduct an in-depth investigation around the private key leakage paths and the characteristics of the anomalous withdrawal tools.
