Tokenization Service Goes Live, DTCC Initially Supports 34 Securities

Odaily reports that DTCC has announced the launch of its tokenization service, initially supporting the tokenization of 34 securities. The tokens are backed 1:1 by securities custodied by DTC, and holders enjoy the same legal rights and economic interests as the underlying securities; traditional markets and on-chain usage share the same CUSIP codes, and point-to-point transfers can be made around the clock between DTC-registered wallets. The service has built-in compliance controls and enables near-real-time tracking of ownership. The initial wallet and application partners include BitGo, Blockdaemon, Fireblocks, HashKey, Kaleido, Prometheum, Talos, Temple, and Tradeweb.
