Survey: 35% of US Respondents Support Candidates Promoting Fintech Development, Only 13% When It Comes to Crypto and DeFi

Odaily reports: According to a latest survey jointly conducted by the DeFi Education Fund and market research firm Ipsos, 35% of US respondents believe that political candidates should support the development of next-generation fintech in the United States, but when the question explicitly involves blockchain, cryptocurrency, and decentralized finance (DeFi), the support rate drops to 13%.

The survey shows that 74% of respondents believe the financial system needs reform to give individuals more control over their money and assets, but only 9% say they are very or extremely familiar with cryptocurrency, and only 5% have high or complete trust in decentralized platforms.

Among respondents willing to try DeFi, savings and domestic US transfers are the most notable potential use cases, rather than speculative trading. In addition, cryptocurrency ownership rose by 4 percentage points, but the proportion of respondents who have used cryptocurrency in the past year remains at 13%, unchanged from before.
