Binance Security Team Successfully Thwarts Multiple North Korea-Linked Hacker Attacks, No System Compromise or Asset Losses
Odaily — On October 27, Binance announced that over the past week, the Binance security team successfully identified and blocked multiple North Korea-linked cyberattack threats, with no damage to company systems or asset losses.
Binance noted that North Korea-linked attack groups have recently been conducting an ongoing social engineering campaign called "Contagious Interview." Binance warned that such attacks may exploit everyday scenarios such as job interviews, coding tests, and software installations. Users should avoid installing unauthorized software or running code of unknown origin, and should use secure AI tools and data storage platforms.
Binance stated that it always prioritizes security, continuously conducts security monitoring, threat identification, risk prevention, and internal security management, and constantly strengthens the security protections of its platform and company systems. Binance said this incident once again highlights the importance of continuous security efforts and raising employee security awareness.
