Trump-affiliated group spends $277 million to boost Republican midterm elections
Odaily reports: Between early September and mid-October, the "Super PAC" affiliated with U.S. President Trump spent $277 million to support Republican candidates running in the midterm elections; at the same time, the committee also raised another $25 million in funding.
According to the latest filings submitted to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), casino magnate Stephen Wynn, Blackstone's Stephen Schwarzman, and billionaire Diane Hendricks were among the donors, providing large contributions. Since its founding two days after Trump won his second term, "MAGA Inc." has raised a cumulative total of $449 million—an unprecedented scale of fundraising for a president beginning a second term.
These funds further strengthened the Republican camp's "war chest." Currently, the Republican Party and its three affiliated "Super PACs" have raised a total of $2.1 billion, far exceeding the $1.3 billion raised by the Democratic camp. (Jinshi)
