OKXICE's Proposed Tokenized Stock Platform Receives Objection Notices from 16 Issuers
Odaily: The joint venture OKXICE, formed by cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, disclosed in an updated announcement that it has received objection notices from 16 issuers, involving companies such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs.
Andrew Cuomo, co-chairman of OKXICE and former Governor of New York, stated that these notices do not constitute objections, and that some companies simply want to observe how the tokenized stock model operates before making a decision, adding that he expects more companies to raise similar concerns.
OKXICE's proposed platform plans to cover 62 companies listed on U.S. exchanges, of which about 25% have raised objections. The platform is intended to operate 24/7 through permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on XLayer, with tokenized stocks paired respectively with Tether's USDt, Circle's USDC, or Global Dollar's USDG.
