No sensitive user information involved, Bitget responds to TiDB Cloud data breach: only public trade logs stored
Odaily report: According to monitoring by Xie Jiajun, Xie Jiajun, Head of Bitget Greater China, stated in a post that after investigation and confirmation, hackers breached and obtained data from TiDB Cloud, a cloud database product under PingCAP. Bitget and companies such as Baidu had previously partnered with the company. Bitget had only stored some public trade logs in that database—data visible to all users on the trading channel—and had already stopped using the related services more than two months ago. This incident did not involve any user data, nor was there any leakage of sensitive information such as passwords. Previously, PingCAP's database and customer information were suspected of being stolen by hackers, involving companies such as Bitget and Pionex.
