Tokenized Stocks Total Value Nears $3.3 Billion, Over 70% of BNB Chain Trading Occurs After U.S. Market Hours
Odaily News: The total value of tokenized stocks has approached $3.3 billion, growing 15% over the past 30 days. On major blockchains such as Solana and BNB Chain, the majority of tokenized stock trading occurs outside of regular U.S. market hours.
On BNB Chain, over 70% of tokenized stock trading volume occurs outside of 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time, compared to 63% on Solana and close to 60% on Base. On Solana, tokenized asset trading volume on the Jupiter trading platform grew 50% month-over-month.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last month introduced an "innovation exemption" allowing qualifying trading venues to trade tokenized U.S. stocks on public blockchains. SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda stated that relevant platforms must disclose USD-denominated trading prices, sizes, timestamps, and daily trading volumes, as well as publicly disclose liquidity pool addresses and balances.
