Virtual asset trading commission income fell 13.5% quarter-on-quarter as Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) released its financial review of the securities industry
Odaily reports: The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong has released its financial review report on the securities industry, disclosing that the Hong Kong securities industry's net profit increased by 21% to HK$51.7 billion in the first half of 2026. Total net commission income and interest income from securities trading, futures and options trading, leveraged foreign exchange trading, and virtual asset trading amounted to HK$45.4 billion, up 13% compared with the second half of 2025; among this, virtual asset trading commission income was HK$99.3 million, a decrease of HK$15.5 million from HK$114.8 million in the second half of 2025, down 13.5% quarter-on-quarter.
