Nvidia-backed Upscale AI launches cross-vendor AI chip interconnect platform Token Fabric
Odaily News: Nvidia-backed AI infrastructure startup Upscale AI has officially launched its Token Fabric platform, aiming to enable customers to connect AI chips from different vendors within the same data center. The platform combines hardware and software and features equipment based on Nvidia's Spectrum-X technology, enabling interconnectivity across AI processors from multiple vendors.
According to the plan, the first version of Token Fabric will be released in the fourth quarter of this year to connect AI chip clusters within data centers, with the full platform to be rolled out in phases by 2027. On the funding side, Upscale AI completed a $190 million extension round in June this year, led by Premji Invest, the investment firm of Indian billionaire Azim Premji, with participation from Nvidia, Salesforce, and Singapore's Temasek, among others. To date, the company has raised a cumulative $500 million at a valuation of approximately $2 billion. (Reuters)
