Ondo Finance Launches Ondo Private Markets, Tokenizing Private Company Equity Returns and Bringing Them Onchain

Odaily News: Ondo Finance has announced the launch of the Ondo Private Markets platform, aimed at bringing the economic returns of industry-leading private companies onchain through tokenized notes.

Ondo Private Markets provides investment exposure through tokenized notes, with each token's returns tied to the per-share value of the underlying company's common stock in a qualifying liquidity event (such as an IPO or other exit event). The tokens are freely transferable and can be composable with the onchain DeFi ecosystem.

Ondo Finance stated that a large number of high-growth companies in the United States remain private, leaving ordinary investors unable to participate in these companies' early-stage value growth for a long time. Data shows that approximately 87% of U.S. companies with revenue exceeding $100 million are still privately held, while traditional private market investment opportunities are mainly concentrated among institutional investors and venture capital firms.
