El Salvador to Launch Digital Dollar App Sivar, Supporting Stablecoin Receipt, Holding, and Transfers via Base Network

Odaily: Five years after Bitcoin became legal tender in the country, the Salvadoran government is collaborating with Modveon to develop a government-backed app called Sivar, allowing citizens to send, receive, and hold USD-pegged stablecoins via Coinbase's Base network, with support for remittances. The app will verify user identity through government-issued credentials.
