EU Proposes Bringing Crypto Service Providers into Mandatory "Central Contact Point" Mechanism

Odaily: The European Commission has adopted a delegated act to extend the "Central Contact Point" (CCP) framework to crypto-asset service providers (CASPs), requiring crypto exchanges and other institutions operating in member states to designate a local contact person. Previously, this framework applied only to e-money institutions and payment institutions. Following the amendment, crypto service providers will be brought into the anti-money laundering and compliance supervision network, enabling regulators to obtain a fixed point of contact within the jurisdiction and strengthening information transmission and enforcement coordination.
