The bill passed the House last July but was stalled due to a conflict between banking lobbying groups and crypto companies over customer stablecoin yields. A new draft circulated in July prohibits government officials from promoting crypto or profiting from it, and Democrats have criticized the Trump family's involvement in the sector while calling for further revisions.
