消息人士:日本央行倾向于本月加息25个基点,未来加息节奏将保持灵活
Odaily News: According to informed sources, the Bank of Japan is inclined to raise its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points this month to address upside risks to inflation, while maintaining flexibility in the pace of future rate hikes based on economic and price conditions. The sources indicated that Bank of Japan officials will discuss the possibility of raising the policy rate and continue to view inflation risks as tilted to the upside. Rising service prices and sustained yen weakness have further strengthened the case for action.
The sources noted that Japan's economy is currently developing broadly in line with the Bank of Japan's earlier projections. Given that there have been no major changes in economic conditions requiring significant policy adjustments, the likelihood of a 50-basis-point hike is low. One source said this has reduced market expectations for an "aggressive rate hike." (Jin Shi)
