Odaily Planet Daily News: MANTRA published a security incident report on August 20, stating that an attacker exploited a Cosmos EVM integer underflow vulnerability to transfer 720.924 million MANTRA tokens from two addresses, worth approximately $3.6 million at $0.005 per token. Of these, 600 million tokens came from a burn address, and 121 million tokens came from the genesis multisig address. The attack did not involve validators or admin keys. The vulnerability was fixed on the development branch on May 15 and merged into the release branch on August 19. The first abnormal transfer occurred at 11:06 (UTC+8) on August 21, and the MANTRA Chain halted at 15:13 (UTC+8) the same day, restarting under version v8.4.0 on August 22. Of the stolen funds, 683 million tokens were sent to exchange deposit addresses, while the remaining 37.96 million tokens were frozen. Fund recovery has now entered the law enforcement investigation phase.
