Odaily Planet Daily News: The Central Bank of Brazil has developed a real-time cryptocurrency threat early warning system and partnered with digital asset threat protection company Hypernative to provide banks and domestic cryptocurrency exchanges with attack identification, response, and fund tracing support.

In July 2025, cybercriminals exploited vulnerabilities in the software of financial software middleware company C&M to steal $180 million from the financial system, converting part of the funds into Bitcoin and USDT through exchanges. This incident prompted the Central Bank of Brazil to accelerate the development of the related system.

Regina Pedroso, Executive Director of the Brazilian Tokenization Association (ABToken), stated that the system will begin integration within the next two weeks, with Foxbit and Mercado Bitcoin participating in the implementation. Relevant institutions have completed testing and issued some early warnings. Brazil will also impose a 24-hour preventive retention measure on cryptocurrency transfers exceeding $10,000 per individual, whether in a single transaction or cumulatively within one day.
