OpenAI reduces GPT-5.6 Sol API prices, with long-context output prices cut by 50%
Odaily Planet Daily News: OpenAI has announced a limited-time price reduction for the GPT-5.6 Sol API and credits, with the discount lasting at least until November 21. Specifically, the standard short-context API input token price drops from $5 to $4 per million tokens, and the output price drops from $30 to $20; the long-context input price drops from $10 to $8, while the output price drops from $60 to $30.
The new API prices are now in effect, and credits prices for ChatGPT Work and Codex will also be adjusted accordingly. Usage allowances included in Plus, Pro, and Business subscriptions remain unchanged.
Previously, OpenAI had already reduced prices for GPT-5.6 Terra and Luna. With this Sol price cut, all three tiers of the GPT-5.6 series have now undergone a round of price adjustments.
